Searching for Jesus Christ

I was studying some digital marketing and researching a project when a question came to my mind: are people searching for Jesus Christ online?

Sure enough, Google had some interesting insights.  I learned that most people searching about Jesus Christ online were in Africa.  People from outside of Christian nations were asking more questions than those in historically Christian nations.  You would think that makes a lot of sense since they don't have as many churches and religious people offering to teach them about Jesus Christ.  But isn't it amazing that people from all over the world want to learn more about Him?

It seems to be a logical consequence of the reality of Jesus Christ.  Nothing stirs my soul with greater joy than contemplating that every person born to this world is a beloved child of God.  Each life has a purpose, even mine and yours.  We are not here by accident and our life did not start here.  We lived in Heaven with Him in his glorious presence until it was time for us to perform our labor on earth.   We are all brothers and sisters blessed with something divine within us.  Sometimes we feel this divinity influencing our actions and we call it intuition; other times we feel it torment us and we call it conscience.  I have met persons with many different perspectives in life, but I have never met one that could not relate to those very real human experiences.

Why is that?  The Bible explains in this way:

"1 aIn the bbeginning was the Word, and the cWord was with God, and the dWord was eGod.

The same was in the abeginning with God.

All things were amade by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was alife; and the life was the blight of men.

That was the true aLight, which blighteth cevery man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the aworld, and the bworld was cmade by him, and the world dknew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own areceived him not.

12 But as many as areceived him, to them gave he bpower to become the csons of God, even to them that believe on his dname:

13 Which were aborn, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

John 1:1-4;9-13

I know that this Light is Jesus Christ.  He truly is the word that created all things and I know there is no one on this earth that has come destitute of the gift of a seed divinity, a guiding force towards love and goodwill.  However, it is also God's wisdom to give us the gift of choice, of having the ability to live by this light or reject it.  Unfortunately, all of us will distance ourselves from this loving influence.  We all do end up hurting others and ourselves along the way.

The good news is that the point of life is not to escape from it without a scratch.  Jesus Christ is the reason why a world of conflict and darkness can become just what we need to become full of love like Him.   Because we all have made mistakes and evil deeds, and we have all done things against ourselves and others we all have need of His compassion and forgiveness.  And because we are surrounded by people who are, like ourselves,  ungodly, we all have the chance to offer compassion and forgiveness to those around us.  It is this process of turning away from the darkness and walking towards the light of Christ that we call repentance.

We cannot repent without Jesus Christ.  We cannot make any wrongs right once they are done.  But because He took upon himself the sins of the world and died for us, He can help us.  He can give us the power to rise above our evil tendencies and desires.  He can heal the broken hearts and He can give peace to our sorrowful souls.

I hope to use this space to answer some of the questions I see about Jesus Christ.  Unlike many people I know who are very good at living life by themselves, I have always felt inadequate and incapable.  But I have been able to lead a life I find good and peaceful, in spite of my mistakes and weaknesses through relying on Him.  I need Him every day and He has never let me down.  I know He can help you too.  And He will.  I hope that by sharing my experience you will create your own and find joy, peace, and satisfaction from the best source.  The only one that lasts.

With love,

Luciana
